In 2017, Tami Tyree as the echo of our ancestors began a tribute to the life and times of Frederick Douglass. It has become an annual series of events, and to date, includes a self-published journal (2017), a drawing workshop (2017), a community program of speakers, performances, music (2017 to present).
The Thomas Dorsey/Mahalia Jackson project began in 2010. The first events took place at the Riverside Church in NYC, with a lecture by Tami Tyree on Dorsey’s gospel legacy.
