In 2017, Tami Tyree as the echo of our ancestors began a tribute to the life and times of Frederick Douglass. It has become an annual series of events, and to date, includes a self-published journal (2017), a drawing workshop (2017), a community program of speakers, performances, music (2017 to present).
In 2019, Ms. Tyree presented her play with music A Seat at the Table: Dinner With Frederick Douglass, and read his famous speech “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?” July 4, 2020 at Frederick Douglass Circle, New York, NY.
